This is Eskoria. Punk rock stalwards, legends and torch bearers. William Fabian was Cuba’s number one punk rocker, a kind and quiet guy who just wanted to play the music he loved. He died in January, 4 days after we came home from Cuba. This was shot in Trinidad at the Solidarity Rock show last summer, when everyone had had way too much agua ardiente to drink.

For the past 2 years, I have been working with musicians in Canada, the US and Cuba, to equip Cuban rock bands so they can take their practice to the next level. It has resulted in numerous benefit shows in Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg and Los Angeles. In January 2010, we brought Edmonton rockers SLATES on a 2 week Solidarity Rock tour of Cuba. Our friends have taken the help we’ve been able to give and turned it into an explosive punk rock scene in an unlikely place. This is video from SLATES in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba.
